Festival FAQs

Getting there, where you'll sleep, the trails and what to pack. Answers summarised for this demo from lovetrailsfestival.co.uk.

General

What is Love Trails Festival?

A four-day gathering of around 5,000 people for trail running, movement, music and outdoor culture on the coast of South Wales. Days are for running, hiking and exploring; evenings for DJs and live acts.

Is it suitable for beginners?

Yes. Many run experiences are 5 km or less at a social pace, the trail races can be walked or hiked, and there are no cut-off times on the included races. Wellness sessions and workshops suit every level.

Are there day or weekend tickets?

No. Only full four-day tickets are sold: General Admission or Premium Admission.

Tickets & entry

When do I get my e-ticket?

About seven days before the festival. Bring it on paper or on your phone with photo ID; the name on the ticket must match your ID. Lead bookers forward tickets to their guests.

Can I get a refund or sell my ticket?

Tickets are not refundable or deferrable, unless you bought booking protection and your reason is covered. You can sell privately to someone you know; email the festival with the buyer's details and the booking is transferred. Resale platforms such as Tixel are not accepted.

Why is there a booking fee?

A 7.5% fee covers card processing, the booking platform and year-round support, below the 8–10% common at UK festivals. 1% goes to the Love Trails Community Fund for local projects in Wales.

Accommodation & camping

Do I need to bring a tent?

Four nights of camping are included; bring your own tent and kit. Glamping bell tents (luxury, standard, unfurnished or a bed in a shared tent) and campervan pitches can be booked as extras.

Is there quiet camping?

Yes, in the field furthest from the arena, with an 11pm noise curfew. It can't be booked; pitches are first come, first served.

Transport & travel

How do I get there?

Return coaches run from London, Bristol and Cardiff to the check-in. By train, Swansea and Gowerton are closest, then a taxi of about 35 minutes. Drivers need a car park pass and should navigate to "Weobley Castle", not the postcode.

Running, hiking & trail races

Which trail races are included?

Every adult ticket includes one race: the Garmin 5km, Garmin 10km, Love Trails 16km or Salomon 27km. The Ultra-Trail Gower Peninsula® and the multi-day race cost extra; Premium holders can run unlimited races. Races are marked, chip-timed and finish with a medal.

Do I need to book runs and hikes?

Trail races must be booked in advance, with changes allowed until 31 May; there are no entries on the day. Run and hike experiences need no booking: just turn up.

What kit do I need for a race?

Trail shoes with grip, a race vest, a taped waterproof, a charged phone, about a litre of water, a small first-aid kit and food for the distance. The ultras add waterproof trousers, a spare base layer and a whistle.

Adventure activities

What are adventure activities?

Paid extras booked in advance, run by local providers: on site, foraging and run-to-wine, cider or beer tastings; off site, with minibus transfers, rock climbing, sea kayaking, paddleboarding, surfing, coasteering and bird watching.

Health, safety & accessibility

Is there access support?

A free personal assistant ticket is available with proof of need, plus an accessible toilet, camping closer to the arena, a fridge for medication and charging for medical equipment on request. Two BSL interpreters cover key parts of the programme.

What to bring

Can I bring children or my dog?

Yes to both. There are infant (0–4, free), child (5–11) and teen (12–17) tickets, and under-16s stay with an adult. Dogs are welcome on a lead, can join any run, and must never be left alone in a tent.

What can't I bring?

No glass, BBQs or open fires, large sound systems, lasers, air horns, fireworks or drugs. Alcohol is fine in the campsites but not in the arena. Small gas stoves are allowed in the camping field.

Volunteering & hosting

Can I volunteer, host a session or bring my crew?

Yes. Volunteer applications for 2027 are open, and run crews, communities, speakers, film-makers and workshop hosts can propose ideas for the 2027 programme through the festival's forms.
